FAQ

What are Always Allowed Apps?

Always Allowed Apps are apps that remain accessible to your child at all times, regardless of which screen time mode is active (e.g. Study Mode, Wind Down Mode, or Bedtime Mode).

Always Allowed Apps are apps that remain accessible to your child at all times, regardless of which screen time mode is active (e.g. Study Mode, Wind Down Mode, or Bedtime Mode). This feature is designed to ensure your child can always access essential tools for safety, communication, or health – even when other apps are restricted.

Why is this useful?

There are certain apps that children may need in any situation – such as calling a parent, using navigation on the way to school, or accessing a medical alert app. By marking these apps as "Always Allowed", you can ensure they remain available without compromising the boundaries you've set for other types of screen time.

When it could be used?

  • Your child needs to call you or emergency contacts during bedtime or school hours.
  • They are walking to school and need access to the Maps app for directions.
  • You want them to use a medical or health tracking app at any time.
  • They’re on a school trip and need the Camera to take photos.
  • You’ve limited all other apps in Wind Down Mode but still want to allow music or meditation apps.
