Young Minds Kids App

Enable VPN services

VPN is required for Web Filtering to work on your child’s device. Once enabled, The Young Minds Kids App can filter websites, block harmful content, and provide browsing reports.

To use the Web Filtering feature, VPN must be enabled on your child’s device. This allows the app to block harmful content, filter websites by category, and provide detailed browsing reports.

Enable VPN on Android Child Devices

To enable VPN on an Android child device:

  1. Ensure no mode is currently active (for example, Study, Wind Down, or Bedtime).
  2. Update the Young Minds Kids App to the latest version on your child’s device.
  3. Open the Young Minds Kids App on your child’s device.
  4. Go to Manage, enter your Parent PIN, and temporarily turn off the Device Protection toggle.
  5. Tap Enable VPN and, when prompted by the system, tap Allow or Enable to grant VPN permission.
  6. Turn Device Protection on again.

VPN on iOS Child Devices

On iOS child devices, VPN is enabled automatically by the MDM server. If your child tries to stop the VPN service, it will be re-enabled automatically by the system.

Once VPN is enabled, you can configure website filtering rules and mode-specific web access from the Young Minds Parent App.
