The iOS Settings section gives you additional controls over your child’s iPhone or iPad. You can use these settings to manage app access, purchases, content, device features and other protections.
Some settings require Anti-Tampering to be enabled on your child’s device. These settings are clearly marked below.

Available iOS settings
Hide the App Store (requires Anti-Tampering to be enabled)
Prevents new apps from being installed on your child’s device. This can help you control which apps your child has access to. You may need to turn this setting off temporarily to update apps manually.
Block in-app purchases
Prevents your child from making purchases within apps. This can help avoid accidental or unwanted spending.
Disable camera
Turns off the camera and hides the Camera app from the Home Screen. This can be useful when you do not want your child taking photos or videos on the device.
Disable multiplayer gaming (requires Anti-Tampering to be enabled)
Prevents your child from joining multiplayer games through Apple Game Center. This can help reduce online gaming and interactions with other players.
Block explicit content
Blocks explicit music, podcasts, books and iTunes content. This helps limit your child’s access to content that may not be appropriate for them.
Block explicit books
Prevents your child from accessing explicit books in Apple Books. This provides additional control over the reading content available to your child.
App age restrictions
Sets the highest age rating for apps your child can use. This helps ensure that your child can only access apps appropriate for the age limit you choose. Bedtime and Scree Free Day modes may apply a stricter age restriction.
Movie restrictions
Sets the highest movie rating your child can watch on Apple TV and related apps. This helps limit movies to ratings you consider appropriate for your child.
TV show restrictions
Sets the highest TV show rating your child can watch on Apple TV and related apps. This helps limit TV shows to ratings you consider appropriate for your child.
Block other VPNs (requires Anti-Tampering to be enabled)
Prevents your child from adding another VPN that could interfere with or bypass web protection. This helps keep Young Minds web protection working as intended.
Set date & time automatically (requires Anti-Tampering to be enabled)
Prevents your child from changing the device date and time to bypass schedules. This helps ensure that Bedtime, Daily Limits and other scheduled protections continue to work correctly.
