Step 5: Grant Key Permissions
To enable full protection, the Young Minds Kids App will now guide you through several permissions. Each one plays a specific role in ensuring safety, tracking, and control.
- Accessibility Reporting - Allows monitoring of app usage and web activity to support healthy digital habits.
- Device Admin - Prevents the Young Minds Kids App from being uninstalled without your permission.
- App Display - Enables on-screen messages when limits are reached or apps are blocked (e.g. “Time’s Up!” alerts).
- Usage Data Access - Tracks overall device usage and generates daily reports in your Parent Dashboard.
- Notification Access - Ensures the app continues running in the background, even when your child switches apps.
- Battery Optimisation Exemption - Prevents monitoring from being paused during battery-saving mode.
- VPN Service - Powers smart web filtering, improved browsing protection, and more accurate online activity reports.
Allow each permission as prompted - they work together to keep your child’s digital experience safe, smooth, and secure.

- The setup is now complete on this device.
